"Cornish Thumbs"?
[edit]What are the "Cornish Thumb Chronicles"? I've Googled and this is the only source I see for anything like that. For that matter, who are Paul Campbell and Richard Battye? Campingtrent (talk) 22:19, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
Note
[edit]Should the second half of this article be used for an article entitled "General Tom Thumb"? His birthday's tomorrow (Feb 11), and I noticed that the link to his name is red. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Popageorgio (talk • contribs) 05:05, 10 February 2005
- Done - although I can't find the birthday link you talk about. - DavidWBrooks 14:18, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Pondering a reference to Tragedy of Tragedies, or the History of Tom Thumb, by Henry Fielding, the play that became The Author's Farce when printed, but that play really deserves an article as well, and I'm not up to it. Geogre 19:32, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
"Garagantua"?
[edit]Meaning Gargantua ? That one ? --Jerome Potts (talk) 13:18, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes. But in the chapbook it's spelled Garagantua. Campingtrent (talk) 22:19, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
explain opening sentence?
[edit]Can someone please explain the opening sentence - "Tom Thumb is a character of Tomas". It really doesn't make any sense, by not explaining the "Tomas" reference. The link goes to a disambig page. Elsquared (talk) 05:37, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
Good ole Wikipedia
[edit]One can always count on Wikipedia to inject the word "fart" with a link the the "fart" page as if we need one into a simple article about a character like Tom Thumb. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.51.22.203 (talk) 22:15, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Musical references
[edit]I'm only familiar with the Bob Dylan song "Just Like Tom Thumb Blues" but if there were others could this be added under the film category? Or is this one sufficiently well known as to warrant inclusion? Though, I'm not sure the lyrics ever mention Tom Thumb specifically. Drbeechwood (talk) 23:24, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
