[edit]'Damiaem' must have been a typo for several reasons. Damiaen (an unusual Dutch name) seems to be more likely because to may refer to the (Catholic) name of Damia(e)n. All Google hits for Damiaem seems to be copied Wikipedia articles. There are Google hits to non-Wikipedia webpages about a Damiaen van Doorninck who was in Colditz. And finally, the article text itself refers to Damiaen. So I modified the original page 'Damiaem J. van Doorninck' to redirect to this page.
- not a typo his name is DAMIAEM... M... its in multiple books as Damiaem... the body text had the typo. ALKIVAR™ 08:55, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- It is a typo, its my grandfather. --Damiaen 11:43, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- Dutch military records which I am holding in my hand as I type this spell DAMIAEM. Until you can provide some sort of verifiable proof that this is a mistake, it will be reverted ad infinitum. ALKIVAR™ 23:38, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- I dug up a few urls wich show my correct familyname.
War decorations: [1] Swiss bank claims: [2] A familytree: [3] Another familytree: [4] Yet another familytree: [5] My dads Swedish website: [6]
I hope this will clear things up.--Damiaen 07:16, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- It does, thanks for providing some backup. Every book I've used for references on Colditz Castle had it spelled Damiaem, and the xerox copy of the Dutch military records regarding officers held prisoner in Colditz also mispelled it Damiaem. So you can certainly understand my reluctance to change it. ALKIVAR™ 09:09, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
The category 'British veterans of WWII' was removed because he was Dutch, not British.
