[edit]During his 1968 "campaign", Paulsen uttered what is still probably the single funniest thing that I have ever heard a comedian say: "There is one issue that must be addressed very forthrightly, very frankly, and very adultly. That issue is, of course, S - E - X." Rlquall 03:11, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
I recall his old routine on the Smothers Brothers show of giving a bogus "op-ed" piece and saying: "And I have to conclude that mumble mumble mumble mumble ......... heh!"
He did an appearance on a GET SMART episode as a villain, a takeoff on THE LIST OF ADRIAN MESSENGER titled THE MESS OF ADRIAN LISTENGER. At the end Max Smart finds out that Paulsen was really the villain but had changed his appearance. Paulsen explains: "Plastic surgery."
"They did a lousy job."
"Did it myself."
Pat Paulsen for President forever ... he lives on in our hearts and minds.

Presidential campaigns
[edit]This article could use more details about his Presidential campaigns. For instance, I just learned from reading Stephen Colbert presidential campaign, 2008 that Paulsen apparently received more than 200,000 votes during the 1968 campaign. Holy crap! (as Frank Barone would say). Cgingold 08:04, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Like Father Like Son...
[edit]In 2008, Pat Paulsen's son, Monty Paulson was exploring to follow the same footsteps of his noted father. With help from his campaign manager, Noma Paulsen (aka: Mrs. Pat Paulsen), who lives in Tujunga, California., Monty Paulsen is seriously looking toward being a candidate for "The 2012 Presidential Election", creating a Paulsen Family Presidential Dynasty. Many have said that since the passing of Pat Paulsen in 1997, U.S. Presidential campaigns have not been the same.
Quips
[edit]Didn't Paulsen very famously say, 'I am not a member of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, or any other branch of the government.'??

Right before the Clinton-Dole election in 1996 Rob and I interviewed all the THIRD PARTY candidates. Harry Brown from Libertarian Party. Dr. John Hagelin from Natural Law Party, Howard Philips from US TAxpayers party (right wing far right) and the Communist party candidate blew us off. Then we added PAT PAULSEN. His platform, he was proud to say, was very vague, just like his opponents.
Heres the Pat Paulsen segment. He sadly passed away the following April 1997. An American Treasure.

Met him
[edit]Recently responded to a question about what celebrities I've met, and I forgot to mention Pat Paulsen!! How could I?? He was the first! On a plane, headed to New Jersey... moist eyes (many reasons, not important now...) He was sitting across from me. Our eyes met, and he asked me "What's wrong?" Tears flowed, and all I could say was "I'm going back to New Jersey..." He said, "I'd cry too!!" I instantly fell in love with that funny looking little man!! 😉❤ 2600:6C44:627F:7870:C94A:ACBB:29D2:75B4 (talk) 17:57, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
