Poland never had any colonies in the Americas. No article needed. Rmhermen 01:13, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

- Delete. Article is about the Polish, and about colonization, and somewhat about the Americas, but it is not about Polish colonization of the Americas (primarily because there wasn't any). The content of this article might belong somewhere, though. Aerion 02:03, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Bad title, but I can imagine a perfectly good article on Polish role in the colonization of the Americas. -- Jmabel | Talk 08:15, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
- I agree with above -- it is misleading and muddled, but content is worthwhile to reuse under another name - perhaps Polish settlement in the Americas . --mervyn 12:01, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Misleading title but to me the contents seems to be worth keeping. Jeltz 13:10, 2004 Dec 10 (UTC)
- Indeed; it's a decent though short article, under a bad title to shoehorn it into this framework - and I guess we have to put Courland somewhere, since they did have colonies... Shimgray 14:04, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- The Tobago colony (1652-1658) could go under Courland colonization of the Americas or Polish-Lithuanian colonization of the Americas, perhaps even Latvian colonization of the Americas. It seems wrong to give credit to modern Poland for actions of an independent fief of Poland-Lithuania located in present-day Latvia.Rmhermen 15:29, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

- The topic is valid enough to be expanded upon, perhaps as part of Immigration to the United States of America or a link therefrom, but the title is horrible. Colonization is commonly understood to mean conquest by a state. Immigration is the proper phraseology, if I'm understanding your intent correctly. Delete, then start again with a better title and more information. Katefan0 20:05, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

- Delete as nonexistent or merge into some article about British colonization or US expansion. Gazpacho 02:21, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete or move. No Polish colonies per se in the Americas. --LeeHunter 04:05, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, but rename into something less strange. Polish immigration into the Americas? History of Poles in the USA? Mikkalai 08:53, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. See two entries up. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 02:37, Dec 15, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep or rename. Look in the leading article. The polish didn't have an own colony but they and many other europeans colonized America in the meaning "act where life forms move into a distant area where their kind is sparse or not yet existing at all and set up new settlements in the area". --Mononoke 19:49, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. There is no need to have articles about things that did not happen. However, the information in the article might warrent an article about Kurlandish colonization of the Americas. Martg76 00:25, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
