Gaming veteran?

[edit]

What is a gaming veteran? I think it's a meaningless word that is thrown on job applications and bragging sheets about the gaming industry. I think it would be great to mention on what games the employees have worked on before (if they worked for other companies) to show off their experience and achievements, while we should rid ourselves of the "veteran" term...

What's the matter? Are you upset that you're not a gaming vet? Or do you just get angry over little things that dont affect you? Elyk 23:26, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No, I just think it would be great to mention what games the employees have worked on before (if they worked for other companies) to show off their experience and achievements, while we should rid ourselves of the "veteran" term...
(as I stated before). It also gives a better purpose to this article. No one will learn something from an article that says that somebody is great or that he is a veteran at playing videogames. I'm just saying we should change it for something better, more informative, and less biased.

Elyk, this is exactly the place to discuss things like that. I agree that veteran is a pretty vague term to use in an encyclopedia.

Games are a collaborative effort. Most people put on teams do not have any possible say as to how fun the game will end up being, or what something is supposed to look like. They only feed the visions of those in charge. Because of this, to judge someone based off of what prior games they took part on would be more incorrect than calling them veterans, in my opinion.

The Behemoth's case is clearly different, since they are about 10% or less of the size of your average game development team.

The years of experience an individual gains working on games is more important than what project they were applied to unless they were in charge of a certain aspect. IE. engine programming / aesthetic design. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.187.68.113 (talk) 19:11, 20 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I don't see how "The company is known for producing fun, simple games with Paladin's signature 2D style.", unsourced, could be considered NPOV. Unless anyone disagrees, I'm removing "fun". 81.235.198.225 (talk) 09:40, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't newer members of The Behemoth be included: PROGRAMMERS: Josh Barth Mike Welsh

I am guessing The Behemoth will develop Salad Fingers: The Game. But will they? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Souvalou (talkcontribs) 14:45, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Update last passge

[edit]

This passage seems dated now that it has been some time after The Behemoth revealed Alien Hominid Invasion

"The Behemoth had long teased a "Game 5", which was announced in January 2020 as Alien Hominid Invasion, which the developers said was not a remake or remaster of the original Alien Hominid but introduces new mechanics as an arcade shooter." Yaevinnn (talk) 02:42, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
