from VfD:

Not really notable. Sure, TV stations can have a history, but there are millions of them in the U.S., and it's not worth it to have articles on every TV station in existence. Stellertony the Bookcrosser 22:35, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep - CBS affiliate in major market with a reasonably thorough and interesting history. -- Cyrius| 23:49, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - This is a station with a long history in a major media market. There are merely hundreds of television stations in the USA, not "millions". Many of them could and should have interesting and informative articles written about them. --Polynova 00:45, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

-TV?

[edit]

This has been moved three times to WUSA-TV and it keeps getting moved back. The explanation says that "-TV" is not part of its license. I don't understand. --Jnelson09 17:55, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See the TV query -- as you can see, there's no "-TV". Contrary to belief, not all TV stations have "-TV" at the end of their calls. -- azumanga 20:40, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eyewitness News

[edit]

What month and year did WUSA drop the name "Eyewitness News" from its newscasts and rename them "9 News?" --58.69.64.221 (talk) 02:55, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it was February 2002, when they officially changed over from 9 Eyewitness News to WUSA 9 News. (Though they snuck in a tiny "Eyewitness News" scroll in the opens [1] until they switched to Hi-Def and introduced new opens.) Coincidently, even though they now call themselves "9 News Now" (a name I hate), they have hidden "WUSA 9 News" in the same way in the Breaking News graphics. —SterlingNorth (talk) 07:32, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Wusa9logo.jpg

[edit]

File:Wusa9logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Lists tag

[edit]

The article doesn't need a list of every single reporter who has ever worked at the station. Added tag. NYyankees51 (talk) 04:17, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
