The Little Rascals isn't a TV show, and while Josie and the Pussycats is based upon the Josie comic, not the Josie cartoon, it can stay on principle.b. Touch 00:03, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Are you sure "The Little Rascals" wasn't a TV show. I can remember it being in black-and-white on Foxtel (Australian PayTV) a couple of years ago. Tinkstar1985 11:02, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Gang You're commenting on Wikipedia. Perhaps you could try using it sometime. It was never a TV show; it was a series of shorts.

Mission: Impossible

[edit]

I have moved Mission: Impossible as it is not a remake - as of the trilogy, only one character (Jim Phelps) from the original appeared in the first movie. Willirennen 12:56, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

TV show isn't international and television show redirects to Television program so I'd suggest this be moved to List of films based on television programs - which fits with the other similar entries: Lists of film source material (looking down the list this is the main one that stands out as not being correctly named). films later made into tv shows

[edit]

what about logans run. it was a novel that was released as a film, then became a tv series. logans run is missing from your list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.183.134.128 (talk) 10:03, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TV Based on Film, Not Film Based on TV

[edit]

I just removed "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" from this list, since the television show of that name came after the film, not the other way around. Cal (talk) 16:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bugs Bunny Feature Film?

[edit]

should this be on the list? It was an edited together version of theatrical shorts, not based on the TV show. Quadparty (talk)

Proposed merger

[edit]

I propose that the short page List of films based on television series sketches should be merged here. – Fayenatic London 17:17, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed split

[edit]

Also, how about splitting this page to create a new List of films based on television series? That should also include the section currently headed "Programs re-edited and released as feature length films", as I think all of those are series. Then the "programs" list could just hold the section on films based on TV pilots & episodes, plus the list of sketches (if the merger proposed above goes ahead). – Fayenatic London 17:17, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Veronica Mars

[edit]

The tv show is being made into a movie in 2014. 120.144.203.52 (talk) 17:47, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sort chronogically

[edit]

It would be nice to have a column with the year of the film release, and to have the list be sortable chronologically. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Subcelestial (talkcontribs) 20:14, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This article's scope needs to be narrowed

[edit]

I am quite sure that the original intent of this article was to cover theatrical films based on TV series. Instead, it has ballooned to include a bunch of television movie entries, which I'm pretty sure was not the original goal here.

I strongly suggest that this article's subject be refocused on just theatrical movie releases based on television programs.

And thoughts or objections? --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:33, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I still intend to narrow the focus of this list – I am hoping to get to it next month, if there are no objections before then... --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:59, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
