Oldest Legislative Body in the Western Hemisphere
[edit]This is innaccurate, as the Parliaments of Great Britain, Spain and Portugal all lie west of the prime meridian. (The parliament of Great Britain is about ten miles west of the prime meridien)
Furthermore, other legislative bodies (like that of the aztecs) existed well before Virginia's, but do not exist today
A more accurate statement would be: "the oldest surviving legislative body in the Americas"

[edit]This article would be a good place to list the various monuments that are scattered around the capital grounds and wlink articles to these people. I know Poe is one monument, but I do not know the others. MPS 14:33, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Williamsburg Capitol building
[edit]I'm contemplating whether or not there is a need for an article on the building in Williamsburg that served as the Capitol. It would reduce that section of this article to a summary, which I think would serve both the needs of this article and the need for a separate article that discusses the merits of that building. I'd love to hear any input by other editors prior to starting that process. Erechtheus 05:29, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
