The article mentions that the ship left La Paz, which can refer to a number of cities. Since it says the ship helped occupy Mazatlán just before referring to La Paz, i'm guessing that it means La Paz, Baja California Sur, a city in the same province as Mazatlán. However, La Paz usually refers to La Paz, Bolivia, so i'm not 100% sure. Can anyone else verify this? foobaz·✐ 06:05, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Re La Paz
[edit]From the flow of the narration, La Paz or La Pas appears to be a small port in the southern part of Baja California (Baja California Sur). This makes sense, since it then takes her six months to get back to Norfolk, which is a typical length of time for the voyage from the U.S West Cost to the U.S. East Coast by sail at that time.
La Paz, Bolivia, is located at 12,000 feet of elevation. I doubt that Congress went up there.Wikited (talk) 03:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Upgraded page
[edit]Wikified page after verifying information with DANFS, plus added some additional information to the ship infobox. LInked a number of items under "Battle of" instead of the name of the small town: see "Battle of Rio San Gabriel" for "San Gabriel" and "Battle of La Mesa" instead of "La Mesa" for example.
Added See Also, ref, cat, etc. Also added some intro with overall description of her career.Wikited (talk) 03:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
