The first sentence of the last paragraph of the Nutrients section ([1]) states: "The Canadian government recommends that adults have up to two (female), and three (male) servings."
It should state: "The Canadian government recommends that adults have up to two (female), or three (male) servings of meat and alternatives per day."
Not only are numbers of recommended servings useless without a timeframe, but this is ambiguously worded in a way that makes it appear the Canadian gov't recommends eating up to three servings a day of just beans, when in reality they recommend meat and alternatives such as beans. This can be confirmed by viewing citation 31 ([2]). Foxtrot7azv (talk) 02:31, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

- The previous content in the nutrition section was for baked beans - a separate article for a unique preparation of cooked, canned beans. I replaced it with nutrition information for raw green beans, with this edit. With numerous edible bean species and cultivars, prepared as food by various methods, we need a basis for evaluating bean nutrition, for which the simplest presentation is raw green beans. Comments? Edit request: evidence of earlier human consumption of beans in South America
[edit]Is it possible to add that archaeological studies show that beans were consumed ~15,000 years ago in Huaca Prieta, Peru? https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.1602778 Also in Caral ~3,000 BC. https://cdsa.aacademica.org/000-066/938.pdf

Change reference for "Currently, the world gene banks hold about 40,000 bean varieties, although only a fraction are mass-produced for regular consumption.[18]" (Number 18) to https://www.seedvault.no/about/the-seeds/ (the offical website for the Svalbard Global Seed Vault), or add it as an additional reference as the one currently used is a third party source (that is, the USDA) and the link is dead (not dead link: https://agresearchmag.ars.usda.gov/AR/archive/2006/Jun/viral0606.pdf or https://agresearchmag.ars.usda.gov/2006/jun/viral/)
Also add a greater than sign (>) directly before the 40,000 figure (E.x. Currently, the world gene banks hold about >40,000 bean varieties, although only a fraction are mass-produced for regular consumption.[18])
